Freakshow Fungi?
    #1009901 - 10/31/02 01:03 PM (14 years, 1 month ago)

Ok, what started off as just a shroom growing on a shroom, is now a full fledged mutant cake. I have a few shrooms that have knarly stems, and the caps are kinda turned sideways, i noticedt his morning the gills are showing on two of them, which i thought was odd cause none of the veils have broken (or even appeared) on the others on the cake. another on the cake has the cap turned upside down and attached tot he cake, and the stem is growing from that. It is really bizarre, the stem keeps growing upwards from the cap too. and on the same cake still, there is a mushroom (the largest on the cake) which is supporting the growth of another one on it's cap. really bizarre if you ask me, i wish i had access to a camera.... anyone else have some freaky fungi growing?

I get these a lot when using older spores. Especially on my Lipa Yai's. Don't worry though, there still perfectly good and are sometimes more potent than normal shrooms.

I mean this in the best way: good job on growing retarded shrooms. Hey you gotta look at it like this, in a couple of days you will be able to trip again. Regardless of what the shrooms look like, as long as you can see the tree's breathe and feel colors, its all good. Good job man.

Thanks, I am not in any way disappointed. In fact, i am fascinated by their growth. I find mystel just starting at the cake looking at how the mushrooms grow. I have never seen anythign like that before up close. I'm proud of my little retards :-)

Do you live near a uranium or plutonium nuclear plant? Also the casing or whatever you grow em off might contain harmful chemicals. Something unusual has to happen to cause such bizzire mutations

only a small percentage, around 6% is hydroelectric. when i lived up on the indian rez, i was less than 1/2 mile away from a uranium mine. I woud jog or bike past it nearly everday. It was kind of strange, that was for sure...

You lived on an Indian reservation? Don't you have to be indian to do so? If you are indian, than what the hell are you doing growing mushrooms, why not just get peyote? I don't mean to sound like a prick at all, I just really don't know that much about Native American culture.

Ok, well, not to give out a ton of info, but someone in my family was working at the hospital there, basically treating alcoholism, which is rampant on the res (which is dry, by the way). I was just living there for a couple months until I could find a place and a job and get into university.... I am not native american, just a michigander. It was pretty fucked up living on the res though, i will tell you that much. trash *everywhere*. the whole place is like a giant landfill. all the people are like drunk and beggging you for money or harrassing you. and the navajo do not use peyote, just thunderbird whiskey

I'm not trying to sound condescending, that was just my experience during my stay there... that was in Tuba City, it may be different in other areas. Also, I noticed that the Hopi were way nicer people in general, very interesting... not that any of this has to do with mushrooms...
