I got 2 pint jars with 1 hole and a layer of aluminum foil on top in the PC right now. My questions is if i let them cool 15 min then open the PC up, take the jars out, then put a 2 coffe filers on top with a rubberband, and then place them in a carboard box sprayed with lysol, will they stay sterile for when it comes time to inoculate? They will only bein there until tomm morning though. Thanks guys!

yeah i would say go for it, if you have some jars ready for pc'ing
but dont take my word for it, you might need a second opinion
i'd wait until te pressure in the pc drops substantially also

Your LC jars will be fine taking them out.
When I PC alot of jars I just put them on a clean counter top to cool down and pc more jars and have never gotten a contamination from this.

Exactly ... how are your lids constructed?
Your LC jar lids should have some type of 'adequate' filter or at least a sealed inoculation piont. Coffee filters are not considered 'adequate' by most. Micropore tape or Tyvek at least.
Considering that "a hole" is what you have at the moment ... you could replace it ASAP.
I show how I did my lids on this page: http://www.shroomtalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=26539
To be as sterile as possible I'd at least put the PC in a trash bag/glove box, and replace the lids that have a FAE filter w/inoculation point.
I would at the very least use some micropore tape over your hole. After inoculating use another layer of tape. Ideally ... I'd say use Tyvek over your lid then the ring, and micropore tape over you inoculation hole made by the syringe.

I for one am a self sealing injection port guy when it comes to LC,I know I know what everyone is going to say "Than they get no gas exchange, they need gas exchange" well guess what it will still get so thick without gas exchange that half the time you cant even get it in a needle and that is more than thick enough to inoculate anything and more than thick enough for me,I'm not saying they may not benefit from gas exchange but I would rather have LC I know has been sealed than have LC that has had gas exchange that may have been in contact with contaminates due to getting some kind of filter wet

I personally don't know enough, based on long term experience, but that's why I 'try' to cove both bases by using DOUBLE Tyvek with a self-sealing RTV inoculation point. I've heard people swear by FAE and I've heard the contrary.
I don't know ... but that's why I like the KISS method with a 'safer' FAE (double tyvek). It's workin so far. SURE beats an open hole
