If I am understanding you correctly, it seems that you applied the casing layer at the same time you spawned to your bulk substrate.
If you are going to use a casing layer it should be applied after the bulk substrate is colonized and introduced to fruiting conditions.
Other than that, I am not sure what you should do with your compacted substrate, but I am certain someone else here will know.

I did indeed add it. I was kinda under the impression to put it all together when I built the tub.
Can anyone provide me w/ some insight as to whether it might be OK to have the poo + verm + compost be a lil compact?
Is it going to be OK that I put my casing layer on?
ALSO:::::: I PUT A LAYER OF TIN FOIL on top of the casing layer, WHY? Because I was told so!
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

By "Compacted" do you mean you compressed it all, like pressed it down because that can be an issue, mycelium likes it better and finds it easier to colonize substrate when its a bit more fluffy. If you are just referring to spawning and adding your casing layer at the same time.I honestly do not know what effect this will have,as far as the foil goes, foil, with some holes poked in it for gas exchange is recommended until mycelium begins to poke through the casing layer, from there you can either patch these areas and wait for the rest to catch up or expose to fruiting conditions directly

is it possible if he recently spawned it, put gloves on and dig in and stir it around and fluff it back up. It should stall growth since it be like shaking it again. But compressed sub might be worse?
