No pins yet...

Ive had my cakes in the FC for 6 days now. 3 of my cakes look the same, and the 3 cakes i have this cottony looking fuzz growing from the top. On the one it has lik 30 of the thins, some like 1/4" to 3/8" long. I wanted to know if the LED light i keep on top12 hours on 12 off is good. And is it a humidity issue. Both my hygrometers read 99, but ive come not to trust them. What should i do? Thanks

12 on 12 off is good, and it isn't too abnormal for there to be no pins in 6 days. I would say wait 2 more days, and if you don't have any by then you are out of luck. But really you should see pins soon, either today or tomorrow, maybe try giving them 18 on 6 off and a lot more misting/humidity if you don't.

The white fuzz is normal as long as it is pure white 6 days is a little early to be expecting pins...give em a couple more days the fuzz tells me you're humidity is fine..maybe some more FAE....and some patients...you'll have fruits soon........e

I would assume that an LED light would be fine. But yea, 6 days is a little early. I was in the same boat as you, and then on day 8 I noticed my first pins. Good Luck!

It all depends on how long you let them sit in the incubator. If you birthed them right when they fully colonized, then don't expect anything for 8-10 days. But if you leave the jars in the incubator for a week or so, then you are talking 2-4 days before you could possibly see pins.

Then you may not have good air exchange or humidity. Make sure your RH is 90-99% and that you are fanning and misting at 4-6 times a day.

Yea, I would make sure you have a decent one. I just got mine from the local pet store. Its for lizards and what not. It does the job.
