Terra Cotta Pots???

Haven't found much on this topic, but has anyone ever considered terra cotta as a bulk substrate container?
I know unglazed can hold alot of moisture, and with it being clay I would assume it would be good at stabilizing temperatures (heats up and cools slowly) for those who can maintain a constant temperature.
It's porous so it could allow limited FAE aswell
Has anyone tried this or has any thoughts??? Just popped into my head today whilst shopping!

Ok, I just found a thread - sorry about that!
After reading Agar's words, I was wondering would it be a good idea to construct a 'shotgun style' cover for the top? Like a plastic box with holes in to sit on top of the pot??? Would this help humidity?
Or would just sitting it in a dish of water, uncovered give a better transpiration rate???

Agar has been MIA for a while. I have seen it used, but I would be worried about the porous nature.
