Greetings everybody,
In my former post I asked you for an advidce whether I should birth my cakes or not. See: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/10052166#10052166
Five days passed since I moved two cakes into the FC.
FC: I'm using an fogger in a 2 L Coke Bottle located in the middle of FC . Every 2 1/2 the fog is spreaded for 30 minutes.

Conditions:
Humidity: 99% Temperatur: 20-21.9°C Light: 8 W Megaman 6500k for ~ 13 hours daily
Jar02 2nd day:
 3th day
 5th day - TODAY

I'm somehow surprised that the cap is already opening and it looks quite different to what I expected.
Jar01 3th day
 5th day TODAY
In this cake just one fruitbody developed, but is also in the process to open the cap.
I found this strain about 3 1/2 ago in South America. I took a spore print and inoculated on January 19th 2009. Here a picture of the original wild cubenis (guess there are two different strains ?!:

I assume that I took a spore print of that ones.

Looks somehow different, doesn't it? Well, what do you think? Shall I harvest them today? The possibility of more pins to appear is not given anymore when some fruitbodys opend the cap, is it?
Thank's for any advice. Luz,Paz e Amor. cogumelo

Thats what happens when you grow from spores.
harvest just as the veil tears if you are harvesting for consumption or for storage. If you want to take prints wait until you start to see spores on the stem.
Remove the tape from all the holes in your terrarium, and elevate it off the floor so the bottom holes have air circulating underneath. Fresh air exchange is a very important pinning trigger.
Dont forget to mist then fan 4-5 times a day also.
Not sure why you are using a fogger, a shotgun terrarium will mainting high humidity easily when built right.

I changed yesterday this micropore tape with polyfill.I feel a little bit uncomfortable to expose them without filter due to the fact that the terrarium is in my living room, where I also smoke and do daily stuff. It is not really a shotgun terrarium, coz I just used about 12 holes on each side. However, the cap seems to be very tiny in comparison to the original shrooms depicted...
ps: the fogger doesn't harm, but supplies more humidity and heats the terrarium about 1-2 °C. Additionaly it pushes out Co2 as far as I understood.
