Happy Hardcore ---- The Music that is
    #10089143 - 04/01/09 06:27 PM (14 years, 11 months ago)

I know there are a lot of old school raver's on this board, even if they don't always admit it. And a lot that love a good roll now and again anyway.

So. Am I alone in my love of happy hardcore, or are there others out there that have a secret (or not so secret) love of it also?

Here's some examples, if you aren't sure:

Nakatomi - Children of the night

Charly Lownoise and Mental Theo - Hardcore feelings

Dune - Hardcore Vibes

And my current favorite
Special D -  Come With Me.

All right, i've given you the happiest of happy hardcore, what do y'all think of it, and if you like it, what other artists are you fans of?

You are completely alone.

Happy hardcore is the worst thing to happen to electronic music since detroit techno.

Sorry dude, I am sure someone out there likes it other than you.

IDM is brilliant, there is a lot of wank out there (as it is with all electronic music), but with IDM you really are free to do whatever you want.

Squarepusher is a pretty talented IDM arteest  (I'm not that into IDM myself, but I like what I've heard).

And FunGuyFan why did you truncate my statement? Detroit techno is seriously bad, definitely on par with happy hardcore (but I agree that HH is definitely worse).

I would certainly expect since it was a relatively thriving scene years before I had even heard of a rave, but sadly it also died years before I had heard of a rave..

And UK hardcore just isn't as sentamental.

Plus I don't feel like shooting rainbows out of my eyes or vomiting happiness when i listen to it.

Well that's why you don't like happy hardcore. It's your house.

I detest house and its incredible boring-ness.

Not to say that some house doesn't rock my socks and own my face. But you are in the middle of it, Happy Hardcore and UK hardcore,

Why was the UK always so into such harder music.. you guys owned the freakin world! wait, i answered my own question....

Those sentances made a lot more sense in my head. I missed some of the middle explanatory ground.

I'm more of a breakbeat / psytrance / dnb / acid techno person .

Happy hardcore, hard house, wanky jump up drum and bass and caspa & rusko style dubstep sum up everything that is wrong with electronic music here .

Luckily the 'real' electronic music scene distances itself from that sort of faggotry (yeah I'm a music nazi, especially when we're talking about electronic music).

It is rather odd, I've noticed that America seems to be a couple of years behind whats cool here in electronic music (whilst the people here that ride the EM wave, look to eastern europe ).
