A 'dead spot' on my cake.

One of my cakes seems fully colonized except for one tiny spot. It's Smaller than a dime. It is pretty much gray. I don't think this is a contam because the rest of the jar has been growing and doing well. Do you think it would be safe to birth?

If it doesn't look like mushroom mycelium, it is probably a contam. See if it smells like mushrooms when you birth it, and be sure to give it a good rinse in the suspected area

It smells sort of musty, like a basement. The rest of the cake seems spongy and coated in myc. I cut out the area that I think is infected.
