Pressure Cooking Tyvek???

Hey all, I was just wondering if Tyvek is resiliant enough to heat to be safe to pressure cook or if it will melt. Anyone have any experience with that? I read to use polyfil filter disc when preparing popcorn spawn. I don't have polyfil readily available, but I do have TONS of tyvek (construction worker). Any help would be great.

Tyvek is autoclavable. Construction tyvek is not as good for filters as what you get in medical coveralls and wrist sleeves, but it works. RR

They use tyvek all the time. Usually envelopes so i think you want fairly thin tyvek. I believe you cover the lid with tyvek and use the ring on to hold it on.
Polyfill is pillow stuffing, try walmart in the craft section. You ball it up really tight and stuff it through the jar lid hole.

yeah i used the tyvek from the post office...the priority mail envelopes...all the posts about it were old...so i was suprised when i waltzed into the post office and was able to freely grab like 20 envelopes with the tyvek logo on them...usually they catch on to these things...pc'd for 90 minutes so thats fine....and no contams in like 60 jars so far...so all is good in tyvek land
