20 hours of light a day = bad?

My friend is trying to initiate pinning.
Normal daylight is about 12 hours a day but he usually stays up late and has a 60w cool white CFL (the cheap, the little coiled kind) remain on into the night while he works (about 20 hours of total light).
Is this going to affect pinning and/or final yield?
I'm reading conflicting information on whether or not cubensis get affected by cool white CFL's. Can anyone confirm they don't?
PS Please don't suggest throwing a cover over it because that would block the constant FAE.
thx

I really don't think it should affect you that much at all.
How many days has it been in the FC

If you're using a cool white CFL, its probably in the 6000k range and that is around what you're looking for. I think 6500K is optimal.
Remember that you'll see the largest amount of growth during the dark phase.
Ever walked in your front yard, or did some yard work, to wake up the next morning and find mushrooms popping up where you didn't see them yesterday?
So, you should keep your schedule to a 12/12 range. Mycelium has a circadian rhythm too, so keep that as natural as possible. Also try to keep your lights on during the day time, as the mycelium will feel more at home when the temperature fluctuations through-out the day will vary in accordance with the light schedule.
Some people talk about "light shocking" at the introduction of the fruiting cycle. I don't think anyone has come up with any noticeable results by changing your 12/12 cycle to something like 16/8 at introduction. Maybe with other species... I don't know, hopefully RR can jump in and educate us. Until he does, keep it 12/12

Roughly 12/12 but it doesn't have to be timed precisely. Cool white is 5,000K and is better than nothing, but a bright window is ideal, or a 'natural daylight' cfl will give you 6,500K which is better than the cool white. RR

Thanks for the responces. I have a fair amount of light coming in from the window during the day. I also have a 7000K work light that I hang above it during the day as well.
looked up some numbers and the CFL im using is rated at * 23 Watt * 100 Watt Replacement * 2700° K
Knowing that information, having the 2700K CFL on for hours into the night shouldn't affect anything im hoping.
