anyone suggest a decent aquarium heater

it's been asked but not lately...
i'm having big problems keeping my tit at a stable temperature.. and every time i have to adjust it, i have to lift off the top box with the jars.. reach into the water and change the heater and then put jar box back inside.. in addition.. when i want to read the thermometer i have to open the lid of the inner container and check it (loosing some heat and making the wait for it to level out longer)
so basically i would like one of those with the temperature dial near the plug socket or something... (out of the tit) and how would i go about measuring the air temp inside the inner box with a reading that i can read outside??? so far the tit is WAY too much maintenance.. and soon i won't have the time to maintain it.. and so far it's either too cold.. or in danger of possibly rocketing up too high.. thanks b

This is my setup. I tried doing other ways and it was just way too much messing around to get the temp to stay where I wanted, so i went to the store and bought a small space heater. I got the cheapest one they had and it was under $20. I was very surprised at how easy it was to keep it at the right temp. I'm keeping it at 82 right [in the pic the temp reads 81, but that is from the closet door being opened when I took the picture]. I got one of those didgital thermometers that tell the max and minimum temp that it's gone up or down to since it's been reset and it hasn't gone more then a degree above or below what i've been keeping it at so far!!! Also i've turned it up and down and its been really easy to keep it at any temp i've tried. I'm not keeping it at 85 because I believe slightly lower temps work better.I keep my jars on the top shelf of a small closet. Being on the top shelf the heater only turns on for a few seconds every 10 or 15 minutes because the hot air stays up there pretty good.

That's why I keep it up high. it only runs for a very short time if you keep it in a small closet on to top shelf. the heat gets trapped up there and it doesn't take much to maintain the temp.
