First grow, first fruit picked. B+ Pictures!

I had 6 jars, 3 B+ and 3 Costa Rican, but this B+ jar seemed to grow a little faster than the rest, and actually had mushroom growth inside the jar. This is what I was treated with today in a solo ghetto rigged FC. Not the greatest, but decent for my first attempt I'd say. The other jars are almost ready for birth.

The one I picked was 18.1g wet.

It's a half pint, although it's long and skinny and short and fat.

I meant that the jar was long and skinny, not short and fat. (Regular mouthed jar)
I plan on letting a friend eat these as I'm actually kind of afraid, now.

Also, is the fluffy mycelium on the bases of my shrooms alright to eat?
Picked the other large one today and he weighed 13g's wet.

Awesome boomers dude, but you're really not going to try them? It seems like a lot of effort for no reward. As far as the fluffy part, it's totally safe to eat. However, it will dry-up almost completely if you are going to dry them in any way.

I'm going to eat them eventually but right now I'm just so psyched about how I actually was able to grow such a neat piece of earth despite what friends thought! I was freaked out whenever I actually had to twist one off and it left me with a loud 'craaaaacckkk' sound. I felt like I was killing the poor guy and he was going to be one angry shroomie in my stomach, haha.
But seriously, I think I'll go ahead and have my closest friend do these with me over the weekend. What do you guys recommend for first dosage of fresh shrooms? I'm used to taking 3-4g's of older mushrooms I'd say.
Oh, and I love the shroomery. The little boy inside me feels like a scientist. Thanks guys!

I think it's awesome you got some nice edible mushies on your first grow, and I completely understand what you mean about being as psyched to have grown them as to actually have the end product itself. That's one of the reasons I like growing them, it's a sense of accomplishment, and everyone else thinks you're awesome to be able to do something like that.

Yeah, everyone doubted me but now I'm the one they're all rushing too! That's how life always works, though.
Alright, so I have a few aborts as well. I believe I read that aborts are still edible and are actually more potent? Is this true, and if so, would eating aborts be advised?

I HATE that feeling! And it's worse with monsters... some of my PE have felt like I was uprooting trees.
So, Eat the fluffy part, and really, don't fool yourself into thinking you want that weight at the base of your mushroom stems, just give it a healthy little cut with a knife... it's better than eating verm...
Also, just to be the guy that says it; don't ever tell anyone about your grows... eventually, the paranoia will kill you, if your friends don't fuck it up first.
And, eat them aborts bud!
Oh, and remember to dunk in between flushes.

Alright man, sounds good! These two aborts are completely blue. They started to grow through the dry vermiculite while they were in the jar. Once in the FC, they completely stopped growing and turned blue. They're good to munch on?

That seems pretty good. My first was an inside jar grower too (even with barely any light exposure). It was 27g . If you find a cake thats growing invitro then Id recommend injecting it with water since you probably won't be able to dunk it. Oh and I think those pins are ok to eat (85% sure). Remember you should pick pins earlier sometimes then regular mushrooms because they decay fast.

Yeah, the grow actually isn't at my house, so I'm not too worried about that. I'm going to "give" the mushrooms to a friend that I promised some a while back. That "give" will in turn fund future grows. The last 5 cakes I have are almost completely colonized and will be going in my large pod.
I have this one jar with half Costa Rican and half B+ spores in it. Curious to see how it works.
