I might have ran out of water in my pc
    #10083003 - 03/31/09 07:45 PM (15 years, 9 months ago)

Ok so after i was done pcing my jars and let them cool and took them out i had almost no water left in the pc.  I figured it wasnt too big of a deal.  I inoculated the jars and they have been incubating since sunday.  I decided to check them out and didnt expect to find any myc (which I didnt) but i did notice the brf/verm was a little bit darker at the bottom of the jar.  Did i burn the bottom or is this from the spore solution from the syringe?  Any input would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

probably burnt it. i did that once which led to me burning the tyvek and tape i had on the jar, and then the pc warped on the bottom. now i put ample water in mine. i have no idea what it does to the substrate. if u have more jars and spores do another one and learn from ur mistakes while u watch the first set of jars to see if they work.

Yes i had them on the bottom of the PC.  I didnt have anything to keep them off of it at the time and i just read about the washcloth trick.  Am I fucked or will it still colonize?

I hate to say it but probably not because the bottom is probably overdone and mushy from sitting in boiling water but I wish you luck.At least your jars didn't crack. If it does not look good after you wait a while just make some more
