Invitro pinning but incomplete colonization.....
    #1008184 - 10/31/02 12:04 AM (14 years, 1 month ago)

Hello,

I noticed I've got a couple of baby wanna-be mushrooms in a pf-jar, but there's still maybe two days worth of mycelium growth needed to colonize the whole jar. Should I birth and just scrape away the uncolonized portion or should I stick to my guns and let the cake finish? Anybody have any experience with this?

Just don't wait too long or the little mushroom will start to rot.

The mushrooms will not rot inside the jars unless they die. Be sure to watch out for that. But two days you sould be fine.
