What is this?
    #10080027 - 03/31/09 12:23 PM (15 years, 9 months ago)

Sorry I can't provide pictures; my camera sucks and the pictures don't show what I'm talking about at all.

Well back to my grow bag. in random spots along the outer shell of the mycelium network, there are little blue/green dots.

Does this mean I should chuck the bag? Or will it still work?

wait a day or two but some would say you are screwed. anything not white which has grown or appeared inside of your sterilized/pastuerized and inoculated substrate is bad.

Well it started because I noticed some moisture in the bag (not really too sure why, but it's for sure wet where the mycelium touches the bag).

Does that make it worse? Does this mean I should just toss it in a few or does the water make it ok? Idk

Keep it around but away from other bags/jars.  Wetness can be from myc. but green is never good, u sure it's not funky blue?

green is BAD. blue could be bruising. blue/green could be bruising. extra "water" could just be metabolites and are normal. mushie piss. pooling water is bad however as you did not follow your tek right and water content is off, this could lead to worse problems than discoloration.

just isolate the suspect substrates and see if they finish colonizing. if they do then ok if they produce anything other than white you have messed up.

It's probably bruising. I've had this happen before with jars that sat around a while after colonization and started to dry out a bit. With experience, you'll be able to tell the difference between trich and bruising.

As a precaution, give it a few days and look to see if the green spots spread.

It is funky blue.

i didn't know the mycelium could bruise though?

The weird thing is little tiny brown balls (I assume them to be pins?) are growing in random spots on the walls of the bag but barely any on top of the mycelium.

Could those tiny brown balls be the pins of my mushroom? The only concern I have with that is that my strain was Albino Penis Envy Hybrid, and I don't know why they would grow brownish mushrooms if it is Albino.

most likely primordia. they should expand and grow.

Side pinning happens because the sides of trays and bags have higher humidity and are a more favorable climate.
