Thanks Sapient.

I didn't have much of an intention of a grow log but I have been keeping track of everything with an Excel spreadseet and of course lots of pics. Maybe it would be a good idea to have a grow log. But what if it all went horribly wrong? *gasp*

They are the kernels pressed up against the glass...right?

I have noticed that before the myc shows though the glass the grains around it go black. then a day later they are covered in myc.

It has to be myc! HAS TO HAS TO HAS TO!!

does noone else see the huge black moldy looking areas on the right hand side?

is it just a reflection?

i hope it's nothing bad, im sure you could tell the difference anyways, it just seemed odd.

Really? A few days ago I posted a thread which you were a contributor to, brainsOplenty.

http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/10037311#10037311

Grains look like they are pretty close to perfect, from what I understant from reading. There is definately a lot more humidity on the glass than there was a day ago. The temp is still at around 26C.

Now I'm scared :frown:

I am very very sure it wasn't mold. There was no fuzzyness at all, like there would be with trich. I am sure it is just the picture that makes it look like that, but again I ama  noob.

you seem intelligent. if you say that big dark space isn't mold then it probably is just a reflection + fuzzy picture.

so back to the excitement. WOOO!

haha MycoMario. Me intelligent???

I made up a test jar which had no santisation at all as a benchmark so I saw what trich looks like. Thats in the same thread as I linked earlier.

I have noticed that I get black patches of seed though. I have it in almost all of my jars but there is no growth or excessive moisture around it. It just seems to go black then not long after I will see some myc around it. Perhaps someone can shed some light on this phenomenon.

I am very confident that this is a very healthy jar...but then again I am a noob! Noooo!!

cool, i use Excel for my grows too. It comes in quite handy if you're good with numbers and computers. i would go ahead and do a grow log. its a good way to keep all your records in one easy-to-reach place and others can double check you and give you advice.

Brilliant! I will start up a log. I guess it's a little selfish not to. FOR THE COMMUNITY!

I do have a problem with some jars and contam though. As MycoMario had pointed out I am getting some black seeds in the same area. After thinking about it, looking at them closely and reading more it looks like I might have a pretty serious problem. :frown:

One of the jars (I'll take and upload pics tonight) has a real contam problem which looks like it started on a piece of corn which was in the WBS mix. Is corn a problem? If I started looking around I might see that the corn has started and spread the contam. I searched the forums here but got very little info.

I might have to start a new thread for this one.

Thanks to everyone for the comments.

More importantly, he would learn from his mistakes, or at least have better ability to critique himself.

Congratulations, I here-by dose my "good intentions" on your project.

Only now, will you succeed.
