Stainless steel rust?
    #10066820 - 03/29/09 02:03 PM (15 years, 3 days ago)

Guys, im wondering will this piece of machinery that I just ordered rust?

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Good4U-Stainless-Steel-Wheatgrass-Juicer-WJ24_W0QQitemZ140310635776QQcmdZViewItemQQptZSmall_Kitchen_Appliances_US?hash=item140310635776&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50

I dont think I looked close enough, but read what it say's when it writes
Low cost - comparable to the cast iron units that have to be treated after every use to prevent rusting

Does this mean its similar to them, and its gonna rust if not properly cared for? Or does it mean its just as good as the shitty ones that will rust if not taken care of?

Thoughts? Im gonna be really pissed if this turns out to be the same as the cast iron made ones :mad2:

It can rust, but the stainless steel is more resistant to rust than plain steel...

Anything made in china and labeled 'stainless steel' will rust.  If you get a quality US, Canadian, Australian, or European made stainless steel product, it won't rust.

let's not forget that even 304 and 316 grades of stainless will
oxidize through a process known as galvanic corosion if it's in
contact with poor grades of stainless, carbon steels or
dissimilar metals
