thats pretty conservative. i've seen it possible to get about one pound per shoebox sized tub after 3-4 flushes.
are you using a scale made out of chicken bones and duct tape with some numbers from the business section of the newspaper superglued to it?
lol no. i use a digital.
hippychick put it best in an old post:
Quote:
Cubes can return up to 250% BE ... 30 pounds of field capacity poo would be equal to about 6 pounds of dry poo . Field capacity poo is about 80% water . You use the dry weight of your sub when figuring BE .
At 6 pounds of dry sub , you should get 6 pounds of wet shrooms for 100 % BE . 6 pounds of wet shrooms is 96 ounces , which is about 9.6 dry shrooms . So , 9.6 dry ounces would be 100% BE for 30 pounds field capacity poo .
now remember its possible to get 250%, so theoretically you could get ~25oz out of 30lbs of substrate.
when at field capacity, the tubs i use probably weigh about 15-20lbs however, so make adjustments.
either way, take it or leave it, i was just sharing my experience.

i've also grown single fruits that weighed over 2 oz:

funny? yes. applicable? no.
i don't think people really realize that if you do things right, the full potential of a grow is much larger than what they are used to.

Genetics will play a large role in your yield too. On my 18 gallon monotubs (20 quarts sub, 6 quarts spawn) I get around 12-14 oz over 3-4 flushes with my chitwans.
Now on exact same tubs, substrates, grains etc. using penis envy, I get around 4 oz.
Of course, I'd rather have 4 oz of pe then 12 oz of chitwans though, that's for sure.

genetics plays one of the biggest rolls..
you could have all the best equipment, all the knowledge, etc.., but if you have a shitty substrain, then it wont matter... I have had strains that I have tried to isolate, that didnt flush for shit.. then, in the same chamber, I pulled over a lb out on the first flush... yes.. that is dry weight... but it was also a strain I isolated and used over and over to achieve the same results...

maybe 1 pound wet.. not dry.. yeah... a lb is alot of dry mushies, and I would be very surprised to see that much come out of a shoebox sized container...

are those the shoebox sized containers? got any pics? I would love to actually see the pound come out of a shoebox.. lol
lol no, not wet, dry. and yes it is alot of mushies, but it's not improbable and i see grows from old hands all the time that reach that and more after 3-5 flushes. (i mean really is a 1/4 lb dry each flush that crazy? it's the norm for me..)
the tubs themselves are a little bigger than shoeboxes and i can fit 12 at a time in my FC.
read my post up there explaining it and tell me what you disagree with and i'll be glad to debate it with you
im spawning a bunch of PE and puertorican to horsedoo here this week, when it finishes ill be glad to post the results of it.

if you are starting from spore, than you have no idea what you will get till you are done..
my shoebox sized tubs would push out 1.5 - 2 ozs dry per flush, and I had 18 in my chamber, resulting in over a lb dry per flush... but I have never seen my lil shoebox sized tubs, nor anyone elses, push out a lb DRY by themselves.. would love to see it, though.. I mean, its a fairly small box.. pardon my condescension, as it is not deliberate..
you never posted pics from the ones you are talking about? none? there has to be something to confirm a dry lb from a size 13 shoebox.. lol
goddamn laptop batt is dying.. bbl

shoebox sized was just a approximate size. i would say its a little bigger than the average shoebox (20x10x8")
i dont use MS either, for the reasons you stated.
either way, ill post pics of the next few flushes as they come so you can see what im talking about.

Thus, the idea came to AFOAF's mind. "Let's buy it all pre-made and slap it together!"
Obviously, the next thought was, "But alas, that will be too expensive!" Yet after much research into respectable distributors, a plan was pulled together with some figure's attached, and it goes as follows (shipping factored into per-unit price.):
True Bulk involves 10 tubs, each consuming 1 spawn bag, 1 MS syringe, 10 lbs of HPoo, 1 18Gal Rubbermaid:
3 lb Spawnbags from SporeWorks! (x10), 12$ a piece. MultiSpore Syringe from Ralphsters! (x12), 9$ a piece. 100 lbs of Pre-Pasturized 50/50 Mix from TennStud, 150$ 70$Shipping/10 =, ~22$ a piece. 18 gal Rubbermaid (x10), 5 - 8$ a piece.
Total: ~51$ per rubbermaid, 510$ total.
Projected Output: here's where the guess work comes into play. With 3 lbs of spawn and straight coir, uncased, 4-5oz per rubbermaid was achieved. With Hpoo I'm thinking somewhere around 6-10oz may be achievable, with 6 being the realistic goal.
Total: ~60-100oz's. (3.75-6.25 lbs)
I welcome any comments as to this projected output, and would love to hear what you all think of this as a more pain-free (albeit expensive) tec to growing without stinking up the place, dirtying your hands, and saving countless hours of work.
(yes, it is work to grow if you attend college or work full time or, like some of us, do both, while juggling a full time girlfriend)

I like it,as you said the only drawback on it is the cost and that can be DRASTIC LY reduced by using coir over poo and LC over multispore syringes,in my opinion it does not get easier than coir and Ive said it before and will say it again horses could be crapping in my living room and if I wanted to use poo I would still order it over doing all the madness that comes with making it a suitable substrate (Does not matter to me anyway since there are not horses near me anyway without driving allot more than I would care to drive) But if someone didn't mind the extra work and had access to poo they could use this more or less for free minis the spawn and the tubs because nearly everyone has LC on hand or at least everyone with a syringe or a print can make some.
I do have a question for you though, when you used coir for this did you use the same size tubs and how many bricks of coir did you use to achieve a substrate depth of what when you got you 4-5 oz.If I could grow I would be trying this right now with coir and would be happy with the 4-5 oz dry saving money and work

My favorite is coir & poo mixed together.
My mom brings me big muck (barn) buckets of horse poo and I spread it out on a tarp in the driveway or backyard till it's aged enough then I just move it into a 5 gallon bucket till I need it.
Complex substrates will get better results. Like a balance breakfast.

AFOAF used one brick of coir, 1 gallon of 190 degree water, pasteurized in a bucket for 2 hours (temps drop to 170 when you pour it onto the brick).
Straight coir. uncased. in 18gal rubbermaid. 4.6ish oz's (from 3 flushes)
It was kind of crazy how the flushes went too. Each flush was only 4-10 mushies, but AFOAF pulled two 80+grammers and two 100+grammers and the rest 30-50grammers over the course of the flushes.

There is something to be said about isolating on agar.
Also buying pre-made bags is stupid. I'm about to order a bunch of autoclavable bags to spawn jar to bag. One could do this easily from agar to jar to bag and spawn (my plan). With a good isolate as shown by people above it could cause ma mad increase in yield.
