Using a Vacuum for Alternative Drying Method?

There has been alot of discussion on this topic, searched forms and still no answer to my question. All questions seem to go back to a simple answer, dry mushrooms with a fan, food dehydrator, desiccant/silica gel. "Not that there's nothing wrong with drying said ways"
Out fo curiosity I came across a Vacuum Mushroom Preserver on myco supply
If a fresh mushroom(s) were put in a vacuum on top of a rack, wouldn't it SUCK the moisture out, leaving a puddle of juice on bottom, while keeping its original size?
And If the mushroom were to remain the same size under a vacuum and with added Desiccants, would the results look similar if the mushroom were freeze dried?
As seeing a dried mushroom looking almost indistinguishable from fresh mushroom would be very appealing. And as for the puddle left from the vacuum, far as I know there are active compounds in the water of the mushroom, as this process may weaken potency.
I have also heard of using dry ice, a "bone dry solid gas" put in bottom of container with small hole to let gas escape, layered with mushrooms and another layer of dry ice on top and placed in freezer.
I also may ask that you answer my question with out deviating from subject. I am quite aware of the normal drying procedures.
I would greatly appreciate it E2DX07

I don't think that that will work none too good sir. As you have stated there is little info on the subject, you could try it and report back.

I have a plastic vacuum jar which you have to manually pump the air out to create a seal; I'm currently trying to dry some mushrooms in it with a papertowel on the bottom to help absorb moisture. I may take a trip to the store and pick up some desiccant to put on the bottom of the jar.
I'll be sure to post my findings.

a drop of water the size of a pea when evaporated has the volume of an elephant. You can pull the moisture out of something with a vacuum pump but I'd go electric and save my arm. When exposed to vacuum water boils (it boils cold not hot) off at a low temp and can be pumped away as vapor. That's also why you can't make a decent cup of coffee on top of a mountain.
I should point out that boiling is a change of state coupled to pressure and temperature.
Short answer no it isn't a good way to dry mushrooms.

Out of curiosity I came across a Vacuum Mushroom Preserver on myco supply
Even using the Vacuum Mushroom Preserver you'd still need to use a packet or two of Silica Gel if you are planning on storing or shipping in this product. The Silica Gel will absorb any left over moisture that is left in the container.
