The laughter is really what pisses me off about this, and not having any explanation as to WHY! It was the number one question and there were 30+ marijuana questions in the top 100, but all we ever get is chuckles and denials.

My bet is that in a few years medical cannabis cards will be as easy to get as any other prescription. The only reason I think this is because it is a great way for the government to make some cash out of the deal AND not have to officially revoke too many laws and still look like they were in the right throughout.
Saying one thing and then completely contradicting themselves in the actions taken.

If Obama keeps laughing off those problems, while the news continues to report the vast majority of Americans want it legalized, his popularity will plummet. If the "town hall" on-line thing is censored, or people can't get straight answers to their questions, they are going to think the service is a joke and make sure it is known that it is pointless.
At first Obama did ignore the questions (on change.gov), then he laughed at the town hall ones. Eventually he is going to have to come up with a straight answer why legalization would be bad, and any answer he gives will get booed at by 66% of America who know better.

The only problem with this is, they know now that it isn't going to go away. This was like a wake up call, and now they will be alot more selective in what conversations they allow to start. Im sure the drug czar is going to be drilled on how to handle questions like this in the future just like the presedent and just like the last drug czar. Thats my fear anyways.
This is getting exciting tho. More and more people are going to see that marijuana should really be legalized. If more and more conversations pop up in the media and more questions are repateded, then i think that more people will start to care about the issue. This could really get good. I don't think they can ignore it anymore. Just be on the lookout for more propeganda and reefer madness. Im sure they will prove that you will grow 2 heads if you smoke for a few years just to try to shut us up. The problem for them is, people are not so ready to listen to what they have to say anymore. People are not so cowed and stupid to believe things like that.
