PHP Mushroom App
    #10053045 - 03/27/09 12:00 PM (15 years, 4 days ago)

Hello all. I'm new to mycology but I already am into it (I did an overjoyed jig when my spores finally came) and know I will be for a while. Anyways, I'm also a computer geek (currently working on a computer science major & I work in web design) and am wanting to write a PHP program that would spit out material ratios and such. I plan on doing this for a couple reasons. a) say i have 1 1/2 cups of BRF and I want it gone... how many cakes would it produce and what other materials do I need for the PF. b) say I have 3 PF jars fully colonized and I want the most bang for my buck, how much WBS or rye or whatever do I need to spawn those and how many would it spawn.

eventually i want to expand it to include some of the more popular Teks to get people interested in growing shrooms, but for now i just want a tool so i can input what materials i have layin around and what i can do with them and what else i need to do that. also, expected output is needed (not shroom yield, but like 2 cup verm, 1 cup BRF, 1 cup water will produce how many cakes).

anybody want to start putting out some different cake recipes or help writing code? i know i could sift through all the posts and get this info, but i'm writing code for it now and wanting to find people with more knowledge of this to help me out.

also, any ideas for useful tools to be included in the program would be great (calendar for grow log, unit conversion, etc..). i want this to be the mother of all mycology tools. many thanks
