What/ where is your light source? Mushrooms should grow towards light.

it could be an effct of uneven lighting or uneven room humidity.

the fruits will grow towards the area of highest humidity which in your case must be your perlite layer. try more misting.

Actually, I hadn't been giving it much light until I read the ving it natural growth parameters and figured it might be a light issue. So I left my closet door and blinds up, giving it natural, indirect sunlight, and I just checked it, and it seems to be turning up now, so because the lightsource is more parallel, I'll turn the cakes 1/4 turn every day to try and even it out.

I think it has got too many pins, if that's possible, I've got probably 100 on 4 cakes, big clusters of them. Not sure if it's due to inadequate light??

are you complaining about having a large pinset??

thats a new one on me!

:gameover:

it's a desired trait to have large clusters of fruits for many growers.

Lol, didn't mean to seem unappreciative of the love my mycelium is showing me. Just wasnt sure if it should have so many, Not all will fruit I assume?? And am I not supposed to cut off(abort) the ones that don't prior to dunk and rolling for subsequent flushes?

if you are lucky they will all mature but that is not likely. some will abort.

when you notice they abort pick them. if left too long they will rot.

though you dont have to pick them all before subsequent dunking you should make it a habit. pick all the mature and aborted fruit then dunk and roll.

i find aborts are particularly potent in relation to weight so don't worry if you get some. eat those suckers.

and yes active aborts have more actives by weight than mature fruits. most of the active content is already in the fruit bodies when they start to grow. all you do by allowing them to mature is basically bulk them up with water. ideal if you are looking for weight but most ppl would prefer a sackful of aborts than matures.

usually it's discoloration but keep an eye on any fruit that stalls it's growth. you're going to want to pick them before they turn shades of death but sometimes its unavoidable.

Good to hear! It's my first grow but as far as I know, everything's going good. Only thing, is it seems a bit of mycelium is growing on the caps some, I think it was due to misting, so I'm being more cautious on just wetting the top casing and the perlite. BTW those are my friend's cakes, and they're legal shrooms! lol

This is my first grow ever, so I can't really help. Besides that it varies, greatly. Probably ranges from 1/8 to 1/2 oz per cake. First flushes should normally have the greatest yield, also.

wunbadmofo-

pls dont hijack the threads of others. you can find your questions asked several times a month. it's an irrelevant question for which there is no suitable answer and you will find in previous posts that the answers vary GREATLY.

if you get anything your first time you can consider yourself lucky and be happy that you produced something other than mold.

Lol, yea, I smoked a joint last night and got paranoid and removed 'em. haha, even though I'm growing low yield for personal use. Got about 10g(Estimate) from my first flush, doing the dunk and roll again and gearing up for a second flush.

Sorry Homie, didnt mean to "Hijac" this "Thread".  A first time grower should be happy just for no mold? R u serius?  Dude there a million tutorials and vids out there. it seems to me to grow these things u just have to follow simple directions. I could be wrong but your overly sensitive about this whole thing.  Get over yourself, so sorry to ask irrelevant questions.
