So it's been a day and a half since pulling the deformed pins and it seems growth has ceased. The short dark chubbys look as though the cap should open but nothing. No new pins either. I don't know if being to damp is an issue, but touching the cake with a tissue results in a wet tissue every time. I've placed them on a small paper towel fearing the opposite and worriedthey may be drained drier than they should be. I mist/fan at least 4-5 times a day w/ temps between 65-73 degrees and rh between 98-100%.Good ol' fashion shotgun FC.  I'm not sure what else if anything else I should try. Any new ideas. Picks look the same just no little wide open pins.

Are you fanning after you mist. You should mist then fan, so that any moisture that has collected on fruit bodyes evaporates. standing water on pins can cause aborts and on fruitbodys coud cause bacteria to grow.

Also, have you been dunking between flushes?

If those dont seem to grow anymore in the next day then id harvest, and dunk the cakes.

Usualt 2 or 3 flushes is what most people go.

As each flush goes on, you usually get less but bigger shrooms and after a few substrates usually dont put out much to be worth keeping around, plus its more likely to contaminate as it gets older.

Yes. I always mist then fan though the fruits always have some moisture on them. That may be the issue. I did dunk all 3 cakes for 24 hours and rolled them the best I could. Dry verm didn't really want to stick. I'm really stumped. Anyone have any other ideas? Is this what happens if the cakes have to much moisture in/on them? Help a newbie out.

Well.... I decided to pull these guys.

They were very slimy and wet. Both cakes had these type of pins. Dark color were as the 1st flush look like this..

Really weird. So like I said, I pulled everything and dunk them today. Hopefully the right call. Is there such thing as over hydrating a cake? Any help would really be appreciated.
