i like the aa941 with a toggle valve. it is silent like the rest, and has more space inside like RR said. you can get a propane burner and put it on a low flame if you cant find a range the 941 will fit. though you already ordered... a shitake grower i met last month scored all of this for... $1000. -delete- believe it. not to say you made a bad choice or anything. but craigslist is beautiful. those burners are 220v i believe, so he was just plugging them into existing 220 outlets at the farm. but you could take that anywhere.
What i would do with that gear, man alive.

it was another $75 i think i'll get it later or probably weld my own, but for now i've got some 2x4 blocks. the price was $754.08 with shipping.
i was going to spend the extra $40 for shipping insurance but that shits for suckers "almost did it though".
this thing was packed so damn well they would have had to of ran it over with a truck to hurt it, that probably would do more damage to the truck this things a f'in tank!
i had it shipped to my box at school and they didn't even bring it to the post office, they left a note in my box saying it was on the other side of campus in the shipping office. so i ended up carrying this damn box like 2 1/2 miles today! this wouldn't be bad cuz 60lbs aint shit but the box is big enough to get 2 of them in it, which is incredibly awkward to carry. it's like trying to hug a buick!
now that i'm getting into edibles i'm definately getting a couple more of this summer, i'm just tring to figure out how to incorporate this thing into my brewing.
i'ma keep 1 of my small pc's but i'm going to be giving away my other two as soon as i'm done moving "there already packed". so newbies keep an eye out this is a good opportunity to advance from brf!

I've been fantasizing about that PC for a while now deladude. Congrats on the purchase. Be sure to hit me up when you're giving away those other PC's. This poor student could use a decent sized PC that don't leak lol.
God damn I'm jealous...

Make sure you route the tube from the toggle valve down the slot in the insert, and let it vent for five to ten minutes before using. If you're using it without the sleeve, be sure to unscrew the tubing from the vent. If it's hanging down low and you don't use the insert, you'll have an air pocket on top and sterilization won't be complete.
They pull a vacuum as they cool, so don't do agar in it unless you baby sit it as it cools, so you can open the toggle valve exactly as it reaches zero psi. Otherwise, your agar will boil over.
I love mine. I have two of them and at least one is running nearly 24/7. I really need two more or a large autoclave. However, four 75Xs are cheaper than the autoclaves that are only four times the size, but much more than four times the cost. RR

wow definately sounds more cost efficient! i'm for sure getting a couple more this summer. this time i'll have a house that i can have it shipped to instead of having to carry it all the way through the school from my post office there. that big awkward box is a pain to carry that far with a couple hundred students walking the hallway.
thanks for the tip. i never would have thought of taking the vent tube off while using it w/ out the sleeve. thanks again for all the help, only thing that sux is i dont have time to run it cuz i'm moving in a week:( but whats a little more waiting right?
