What is causing sterile mushrooms?
    #1004416 - 10/29/02 10:42 PM (15 years, 6 months ago)

Well a friend of mine had a Ps. cubensis print that he used about 3-4 different times to make his syringes for a multispore directly onto grain.

The first 3 growing efforts led to great flushes, with mushrooms leaving a thick spore deposit all over the growing chamber.

However, during his last attempt, none of the mushrooms had spores. All were sterile. What causes this to happen?

Genetics of the spore match is number one cause of those type of degenerations - might have to clone instead?

As with everything else in life. Sometimes amoung the many, a few duds exist - without any explanation why. Other than, shit happens. But if it gets cronic? Somehing is wrong - somewhere.  6T

Mushie sellers would love this due to they could let the mushies grow out with out giving away spores. Thats pretty freakish. I hop[e I never get sporeless fruits
