Water Droplets above mycellium on jar?
    #1003262 - 10/29/02 01:16 PM (21 years, 5 months ago)

Is this normal? Jars have tape over holes and lids are on loose. Does this signify too much water in the substr8 or just right? Droplets are not noticable at all until you look really really close.

Prohibition will work great injury to the cause of temperance. It is a species of intemperance within itself, for it goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation, and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. A Prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded.

I would say you are just fine. The water droplets indicate high levels of humidity which, as I am sure you know, is what you are shooting for.

In reply to:

After full colonization, expose the jars to diffused light, introduce some fresh air (take the tape off) and they will pin.

No, a fully colonized cake is actually quite resistant.

After I do this could i do a 12 hour sit in the fridge before removing tape so no contams get in there? then how long should it take to expect pins to be visible in the jar? 3-5 days? last cake i did this too didnt show any pins after 7 days but it also contam'ed when i birthed it so i dont know if it was contam before or after.
