Please help me. This is my first time doing casings and everything has gone very well up until the point where my pins get about an inch tall they start to abort and now they are shriveling and turning blue. My first flush was pretty much ruined. Now I'm getting a ton more pins and I don't want those to be ruined as well. I was using perlite for humidity but I have taken all of the perlite out of the tubs and I still cant seem to keep the humidity at 85 - 92 %. I'm not sure if it's my humidity gauge or what but I've been trying to fan them to keep the humidy down but they seem to be getting worse in the last day or two. Please someone tell me what to do. Should I take the trays out of the tub and let them sit in the open air with a humidifier? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanx

Ok, lets just calm down evrything will be ok:) Is your humidity guage digital?? I'f not, then its probably wrong. I'f your humidity is too high(sounds like it), then leave the lid open for a while and get some air in there. Check PC growth parameters, and make sure everything is within acceptable range. Dont give up, once you fix the problem it will work. Keep experimenting with everything till it works. Is there mycelium growing on the aborting mushrooms??

Yes there was mycelium growin on the stems of the aborting mushrooms but not in the last day or two. Now even some of the pin heads are turning blue before they even really form. Any ideas on that?

I know that you may have a humidity guage problem to sort out, but was the problem with the prelite too high or too low humidity?
Also, is your fruitung chamber just a simple tub with prelite humidificaton?

Yes my humidity gauge is digital and for the longest time no matter what I did I couldn't get it to read anything but HIGH. If I leave the lid open the humidity stays at about 70- 75% but if I close it, the humidy goes right back up to 100% is it ok to leave the lid off and for how long ?
