Thanks My other astros are beginning to flower as well. I wish they would all flower at once so I can cross-pollinate.

All of my "prickly pear" opuntias root quickly as well, but this species grows much differently than the rest. Its quite tree-like with large leaves, and the cactus itself is rather hard compared to other species. I had a hard time taking the cutting with my sharp pocket knife

I love prickly pear for its fast rooting traits  I've had them set root in less than a week

bastards lol...Ive had mine sitting in a pot for almost a year. They grow all over the place here, I thought it would be fast but it wasn't. Hey Satyr, take a Q-tip and brush the inside of the flower and stick it in a zip-lock until your astro's flower. Then proceed to wipe the pollen onto the astros, and there ya go!
