i am experiencing a white growth on my mushroom bodies. it seems to grow up from the stalk and cover the cap...it is white and it almost looks like mycelia. it is growing very close to the fruit body..not very thick..like a smooth layer of snow. what the hell is this stuff?
-------------------- All refrences to and statements concerning mushrooms, mushroom cultivation, and mushroom related paraphrenalia refer specifically to the cultivation of legal species.
It probably is mycelia. There is a name for this but i can't remember it. From what I am told it is caused by very high humidity and not enough air exchange. Try fanning more often. Your shrooms should be fine though as long as they aren't rotting or anything. If i'm wrong guys please correct me.

It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Lewis
