He would have, too, if the media didn't black him out. Fox wouldn't even let him speak in New Hampshire.

oh, I remember. I didn't say that as an attack on Ron Paul, but an attack on the validity of online web polling.

Yeah, I doubt that, even in Cali, over 80% support legalization. Fuck what the people want though, they have been spoon fed lies and ate it right up. I don't care if there is noone that supports legalization, fuck them, it's the right thing.

"* As part of a news cast on this bill, an informal, Web-based opinion poll hosted by KCRA-TV asked 8,524 people: "Should marijuana be legalized and taxed for anyone over 21 in California?" 81%, or 6,887 people, said "YES", while 19%, or 1,637 people, said "NO".[12]
* As part of a news cast on this bill, a Feb 24th 2009 CNN Poll found 95% want marijuana legalized and taxed in the State of California.[13][14][15]"
Is this true?! Does it actually have a real chance of passing?
KCRA-TV is a local news station around here. I was pretty surprised when i saw these results a while back. Especially considering that, to me at least, KCRA always seemed like the more "conservative old timers" news cast.
Another local news station had a poll and was asking people to e-mail or call in with their opinion. Everyone that called or e-mailed was in support of the new bill. They actually started to ask people that were opposed to the idea to call in, with very little luck...
It is going to be interesting to see how this goes....Seems like if it was completely up to the people it would be no question.

Hopefully enough people will contact their representatives that they'll be compelled to vote in favor.

All the more reason to legalize entirely. It wouldn't be a huge social change, and the state could start digging itself out of its financial grave.
And once one state legalizes and the sky does not fall, we will see nationwide reform.

I think I would prefer it to be illegal and just have a prescription. It'll be cheaper. You know they'll raise the prices too when/if they sell it legally.

The current prices are inflated because of the risks involved on the production/distribution side. Prices will fall dramatically post-legalization.

I don't know. The places that sell it here for prescriptions are more expensive than dealers.

This is because people who grow mass quantities to supply the dispensaries still have to break the law. They have to charge enough to make their risk worthwhile, and these costs are passed on to the consumer.

The people who supply it for the dispensaries do it legally or the dispensaries wouldn't exist.

Really?...Most dispensaries i have seen have pretty legit prices. Right on par with "dealer" prices if not cheaper most of the time...
And still, a dispensary can charge what they want. Especially if there isn't another one close by. But if all of a sudden weed is legalized, more will spring up along with businesses that are selling bud for legal/recreational purposes so there for places will try and have competitive prices with each other and the price will drop...
I don't see why some people think that the price is going to go up. The fact that weed is illegal is the reason it is so damn over priced....
Take this for an example....Recently some schools have done away with selling soda and candy at school snack bars. So kids have started to bring soda and candy from home to school to sell to other kids. Are they going to charge $1.50 for the soda like the school used to?...No, they control the "market" now so they're going to charge what they want and up the price. And kids are actually going to pay the higher price because they have no other way of getting it when they're at school.....
Hope that made sense, i had edibles for breakfast and i'm getting higher and higher as i write this...

they've already quoted prices, actual figures on the price on NORML and it would be $50 an ounce, any one that thinks it's gonna be more expensive as a legal item is fucking Bushwhacked, stop spreading your ignorance. and as far as those out there, don't listen to everyone's opinion, not even mine, go find the information and form your own, that's what's wrong with the vast majority of people in the country, they all act like stupid fucking sheep, waiting to be herded in some direction( usually the wrong one). get informed, get involved, and for fuck's sake, get pissed of already!
-------------------- There are things known and there are things unknown, and in between are the doors of perception -Aldous Huxley Once I saw a duck walking down the street so I went into Subway and ordered two pieces of bread, and they informed me that they could not do that, like there was some special rule at Subway that two pieces of bread weren't allowed to touch. So the woman asked me what I wanted on the sandwich and I said I do not care it is for a duck, and she was like oh then it's free. I was not aware that ducks eat for free at Subway. It's like give me a chicken fajita sub, but don't worry about ringing it up, it is for a duck. -Mitch Headberg

Do you have that link to the CNN California Poll? We need to start a Proposition and let the people vote instead of letting California politicians handle these issues. I know California can do this.
