Who thinks this would be a good trip toy?

I think it should be, and will probably get one some time, I just want some opinions on it

Yep, just found the one in argos. It doesn't come with an AC adapter (not that that's a problem), only has 13 preset patterns, and doesn't mention being able to do manual patterns. Overall it looks cheap and nasty  and doesn't say what rating the laser is (important if you want to be able to see it). The one I linked to is 5mW (class 3A), that's more than 5 times what the standard laser pens are

Keep the opinions coming...  (mainly because I haven't got thecash to buy it yet)

the '5mW Graphic Laser' looks to be the best (and most expensive!) laser unit...i wonder if it is one of those that will make patterns in the sky...?

Perhaps it would be cheaper just to go the the fireworks night at alton towers  I went last year, quite impressive, the lasers must be like 1000mW at least lol, it was trippy without taking anything.

Think I'll just go with the first one, maplin are dam expensive.
