Awesome stuff, getting me inspired to grow again, just a quick question did you follow the standard PF Tek? Where those in pint or half pint jars? Transkei looks kickass, seems to like that BRF.

Fresh weight. The rest (whats not been eaten and whats still growin) will be dried then frozen for fun throughout the year. A proper summer camping TRIP. lol:D

I followed the PF-Tek on www.fungifun.org, 100% sucess rate every time.
I experimented with 0.5ltr and 0.25lrt jars.
(All First flushes)

were those all 1/2 pint(0.25l) jars?

I harvested a pint cake the other week and got 105g wet from it. Just want to compare a bit because I'm interested in your paper towel-wick-tek.

Anyways, looking very very nice. Lots of shroomies. Have fun with them.

I experimented, as I was curious like yourself, I had 2 0.5Ltr jars and 4 0.25ltr jars. From the first flush, 4*0.25= 172 shrooms @ 137gm, 2*0.5ltr= 212 shrooms @ 134g. So it seems bigger is better, so far.

The second flushes will start soon, I'm keeping tabs on all weights, on all flushes and will give my results asap.

Hm, based on your results, I would say that smaller is better in this case. From basically the same mass of mycelium(4 * 1/2 pint = 2 pints and 2 * 1 pint = 2 pints), you produced many more shrooms (212) from the pint cakes, but a slightly lower end weight (134g), as opposed to the half pints, which produced a bit fewer mushrooms (172), yet a slightly higher weight (137g). From that I'd say that smaller is better in this case.

Thanks 4 the info. Doesn't seem like there's a huge difference in weight but how did the different jars do on colonization-time and pinning? I guess it doesn't really matter if you have the time since the results are very similar but just curious.

Colonizing was only 5 days difference, pinning by a few days too, so not much difference either. All jars were inoculated with equal amounts from the syringe and colonized together.
