My mom has always been the sort of person that says "drugs are bad" ALL THE TIME. I've gotten tons of shit about my friends smoking (she never found out about me) and countless drug talks, not to mention the looks she gives me whenever I mention anything about legalization.
So yesterday...she comes into my room and smells obviously like smoke. So I asked her what it was and she said "I lit a candle". Pshhhh.
But I blew it off.
Then today, I hear something shatter and my mom with a broom.
Later I was taking out the trash and the bag ripped and dumped it all over the place. And there, in the middle of the heap of garbage, was the broken stem of a bowl. Ash all over it. And there is no one else who it could belong to besides my mom. What the fuck? I don't even know what to do with this information. Leave it somewhere so she knows I saw it? Yell about what a fucking hypocrite she is? Tell her I smoke too?
This is just weird.

I think most American families can't incorporate casual marijuana use without completely changing the family dynamic.
I'd say you're at a point where you should honestly discuss drug use, but not encourage interaction like smoking together.
I think you two need to give your little sister a solid understanding of what's going on too, especially before DARE gets to her.

a few years ago i moved in with my mom and my brother. my brother, my mom, and i were all smoking weed at the time. but my mom and i didnt know each other was smoking. my mom would smoke with my brother, and tell him not to tell me. and i would smoke with my brother, and tell him not to tell her. one day my brother lit up a joint in front of the both of us. it was awkward for about 5 seconds, then we had a big laugh about it.
