Innoculating Casings?
    #1001007 - 10/28/02 09:32 PM (15 years, 5 months ago)

The plan is to use these large tupperware containers and put the brf/verm mixture in it, then innoculate it. I will also be putting a small layer of vermiculite on the bottom and a small layer on the top. Does this sound like it would work? Should I leave the vermiculite off the bottom? Top?

*inoculation

You might have difficulties sterilizing the container including substrate, also later the sterility at inoculation won?t be guaranteed.
Go with jars.

Why would you even think about that? it'll probably get contaminated. Why don't you let the jar colonize and then case it. Why not wait?

My friends have been looking for a while without finding any jars. Ive decided to use the tupperwares as the jars, they fit about 2 pints in each.

How are you gonna sterilize tupperware? If you can't find jars, use drinking glasses with aluminum foil as lids.
