how would i know the difference? anybody got any pictures that i might be able to observe? (of cobwebs) not that there are spiders! but i heard that that growth isnt good. i mixed my substrate one night and let it sit for about 3 days then boiled them for an hour and let them cool overnight before innoculation, i noticed a sweet smell kind of but im not quite sure WHAT smell it was but it was there... innoculation was last tuesday. i see this stringy like growth. where the substrate mixture is somewhat spreat apart i see like straight strings sticking across. and it seems that my friend turned his heater on it started to grow more which is naturally probably what helped it. if any of you know or have experience simmilar signs or conditions and know whats going on i would like to know maybe what your ideas and experiences have been on the subject. would appreciate it very much!

I'm willing to bet that it's myceilium. Cobweb is really dim grayish color and isn?t rhizomorphic (stringy).

The way I see it, you probably shouldnt even think anythings wrong unless you see 2 seprate colors. I mean it -is- going to be some cottony or stringy white growth isnt it?
