B+ or mazatapec?

Hey guys,I am trying to decide what strain I want to try first,I was think about mazatapec but now the b+ strain has cough my eye! Do you guys think b+ is any good for a beginer grower,I heard that mazatapec are easy ad is a good choice for beginers. Another thing I don't want to grow giant mushrooms,I like the look of smaller mushrooms. Is there a strain that are small but give lots of shrooms, the b+ and mazatapec looked sort off smaller then the rest I looked at? How about some opinions on some smaller sized mushrooms for a beginer? Thanks in advance guys!

Puerto Ricans are usually small and flush very prolifically and are known to be quite potent. They was my first grow. here is a link to some pics of my fruits. I only used 3 jars for both pans. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=Pictures&Number=959936&page=5&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1 Good Luck

I have never grown maz, but B+ was what i first had success with. THey are rather easy to grow, easier then most in my opinion. Cambodians were really small and plentiful for me, while the B+ generated larger yet less fruits. By weight the B+ won. By fun.. no doubt the cam.

I hear that allot but don't necessarily think it is true. Each strain has a set of its own set of different characteristics as well as the normal Cubensis characteristics. I mean all you have to do is look at pics of different strains and they obviously have different attributes. But generally speaking Cubensis is Cubensis.

Alright thanks guys!I just did a search for b+ info and hear alot about it not being as potent as other cubes,is this true? The mazatapec's I here are realy good, and give lots of visuals. I also want a realy fast growing starin, something that colonize's very fast, "no one wants to wait 2 months for colonization",I read in one log that b+ colonized a hole jar in 10 days, that sounds fast! Is there any other realy fast strains you can recomend? Thanks alot!

Wow,
Is everyone on this thread newbies? If so thatz all good..Cause that means i can finally help some peeps out .. if your wanting small shrooms u defenitly don't want to go with B+....they call them B+ cause the B means a Big, and the + means Extra, so it means Extra Big Mushrooms.... Also B+ rn't quite as potent as some of the other strains, but they defenitly will do their jobs.... If your wanting easy and potent, one of the best strains is EQ's...very easy for beginner cultivation and higher than avarage on potency scale for cubies.... The PR's r small and very potent as well, but not quite as easy to cultivate...itz up too u!!

Alrighty,thanks again guys!
djneutron:I have read grow logs and seen pics of lots of b+ and some were good sized and some were big,but I would say most that were pic when the veil broke were smaller to average at best.I am sure most mushrooms will grow alot bigger if people wait till they fully mature 100%,but I will be picking them when the veil breaks. Thanks for the help though. The PR do sounds awesome to me,someone else told me about them when I wanted smaller mushrooms,I saw some grow logs and they looked perfect, nice and small, very pretty looking things!I hear the PR are strong to,how would they compare to mazatapec's? Thanks guys!

I would not know, but I would ignore people that say PR's are harder to fruit; I?ve had no problem whatsoever, and they were my first grow. Just remember to case them, if you want an abundant pin set. I highly reccomend PR's.

Thanks TeKn0.I was planning on useing the myco bag for my first try at growing,I have an idea about what all this mushroom talk is about but thats why I am trying the easiest and cheapest thing, and it also works quiet good from what I hear! No I don't realy no what caseing is.....hmmmmm...... is it when you take the substrate or cake and break it into small piece and then lay it flat out in something, and cover the crumpled cakes with poop/whatever,again I am just guessing,I haven't been here that long and can't read everything at once, thats why I wanted to start simple! Thanks!

If you go the myco bag way, I would recommend that you case it when its colonized. I've provided here a link about casing and how to do it.

Although, the PF TeK is a little more hands on, and I think you would learn allot more from that than you would from a myco bag. But thats just my opinion.
