First timer, BRF question

Hi all. Im a first time cultivator and I have just finished buying all the supplies I need. I could only get hold of white and brown rice flour. Will this work just as well for the PF tek?

"White and brown" is a mixture of both, or what? It will work, not quite as well as BRF, but almost.

Your local grocery store should carry regular brown rice, which can be ground up using a coffee grinder to make brown rice flour. Some people think this is preferable to buying premade brown rice flour from the store, as it will be fresher. So if you have about $15 to spare for a coffee grinder (that's how much mine was), you should consider getting one, it's a good investment :smile: And be sure to find organic brown rice with no preservatives. I'd say this method beats waiting for the flour to be shipped, but to each his/her own. Good luck! :thumbup:

it'll work fine, no need to go buy anymore. if you want, you can add some rye flour too, it's a good idea to give them a variety of things to feed on.

white rice is a poor choice of substrate. The mix may work ok.

You can buy brown rice and grind it up in a coffee grinder to make flour. Its much cheaper than buying brown rice flour.

Failing that go to a health food shop, they definatly sell brown rice flour.

Rye flour also works relatively good, if you have a pressure cooker.

Plus once you have you're coffee grinder I find it very usefull to grind mushhrooms to conceal in capsules or to make shroom tea with!! which is a very nice way to ingest shrooms.....^e
