 Help with Golden Teacher strain.

Ohai.
I have a few questions about the Golden Teacher Strain.
First of all, I ordered a spore syringe from spores101.
These are my current supplies:
Twelve eight ounce Quilted Crystal Jelly Jars.
3 Pounds of Pre-Sterile Rye Grain Berries.
A Wood Substrate Mushroom Grow Bag. Made with hardwood sawdust, woodchips and supplements.
A fishtank thats fairly large.
Is there anything Im missing? If so what else do I need?
Ive got a $100 budget for anything you guys would suggest.
Oh and could you guys give me some steps on how to produce the best I can?

I started with the GT strain as well. I have found that it might be not as a prolific fruiter as I might have thought it might be. But here it goes. rye grain is really good to noc up and start with. Once the grain is colonized you have to transfer it to a bulk substrate. Verm and coir work well. Use the search function to find more on this tek. After that becomes colonized you can fruit. what are you using as a FC? i have a Martha that I set up. So far it is working well. The RH of the FC has to be at 95% or higher for the fruiting to well at its optimum.

What exactly are the jars for, if your grain is pre-sterilized?

as a fellow noob, i would recommend a spray bottle with adjustable spray (finer the better...$5 at any hardware store), a lid for the tank (or you can make one real cheap), a pressure cooker is a good idea if you plan on doing this more than once (can sterilize your own stuff...$50 for a small one), some perlite (or a glass partition for your tank...$3 at a hardware store)...i made myself a glovebox using a box and seran wrap, some tape and a pair of scissors (overall cost, <$5)
i also have GT, sadly 1/4 of my jars dont seem to be colonizing  ...only 1 is really doing well but that might be for a few reasons (too cold and I had the wrong kind of tape on my jars at first )
anyway, let me know how your grow goes as i will be makin some B+ jars this weekend and seeing if htat goes any better (keepin the GT jars, but they are so slow, i think maybe if B+ goes fast hten it will colonize first XD)

Thanks guys.
So can I put the Vermiculite in the fish tank?
Then put the colonized grain in there?
The reason I have jars is because I don't want to use up ALL of my grain.
One jar of colonized grain would allow the mushrooms to grow in the vermiculite, correct?
Sorry guys, like I said..I'm a bit of a NOOOOOB.
I plan to place the grain in the jars, poke holes in the lids, inject the spores. Cover the holes with aluminum foil. Wait for colonization.
Pour the colonized grain in the verm which will be in the fish tank and mix it up.
Cover the fish tank up with something.
And wait.
Do you guys think that would work?
Or is my idea flawed?
Btw do I need Verm and Coir..or will just one work?
And can I use the Sawdust substrate in the fish tank instead of the verm?
BLEH, SO MANY QUESTIONS I NEED ANSWERS TO! >_<;

So is the pre-sterilized grain inside of the jars, or are they in a bag which you are planning on transferring to the jars?
I'm not real knowledgable in the realm of growing on wood substrates, but I don't believe you need to case wood chips/sawdust, though I could be wrong about that - so I don't think vermiculite would even really be necessary for it.

I plan on transfering the grain from the bag to the jars.
So I can have multiple jars in case one fails or becomes contaminated. (It shouldn't, but just in case.)
I wanted to use the fish tank for larger flushes.
Btw, do I need verm and coir or just one of either.

I think you are missing something. Using a fish tank as a FC isn't the way to go. If the lot gets contam then you have to start over. I would suggest following a tek in the search function and follow it. If you do trays and one of the trays is contam than you can throw away the bad tray. A fish is a great FC, but not to spread the bottom of the tank with verm. You're asking to have contams.

Unfortunately, as soon as you open the pre-sterilized bags of grain, they are no longer sterile, so you you will have to re-sterilize them with a pressure cooker. I would just inoculate all the bags, and buy some extra organic rye grain from a local health food store, since your going to be re-sterilizing either way - you might as well start from scratch with the rye.
For the verm and coir, I'd get both, and mix them together at a 60%coir 40% vermiculite ratio.

It's a new fish tank.
Nothing has been in it. =)
To prevent contam, I can just cover the top with aluminum foil, correct?
Btw, what does FC mean? O_o;
And as for the rye berries. I could just inject them with the syringe seeing as the bag has a small area where you can supposedly inject the grain with spores.
Oh and isn't Golden Teacher supposedly HIGHLY resistant to contams?

fc= fruiting chamber
use some micro pore tape or tyvek for jars
and you should read a lot more before you aktually start growing or you'll mess it up
hope you'll figure it out^^

you can use straight coir. if you insist on verm go 60% coir 40% verm. you could add some spent coffee grounds to the coir. you def need to read a lot more before you start all this. if you mess everything up and get discouraged you may not wanna grow again. if your gonna spend money and time and effort you might as well give 100% and not half ass it or else you will just fail. read more on teks. i cant say i know everything or much of anything haha im just starting my first grow once my syringe gets here. im using brf cakes cause i have no PC. total on 10 bucks maybe? huge bag of verm for 5 and a huge bag of perlite for 4 and brown rice for a dollar something. im gonna crumble them and spawn them to straight coir for like 7 bucks, i may use some spent coffee grounds if i stop by a star bucks soon. they give bags away for free. then i got a 58 qrt storage bin from walmart for 5 bucks plus tax. so i spent less then like 50 bucks cause my syringe was 20 bucks. for my FC im just putting wet perlite in the bottom and then gonna spawn them. its a real simple method and i have been reading everything i could find on different teks. just keep reaserching....good things will come from patience

and actually thats the strain i ordered so ill be posting stuff letting everyone know how thats going for me. hopefully i can get some good prints and be set for a bit
