Best computer I can purchase with monthly payments?
    #9865230 - 02/25/09 07:22 PM (15 years, 1 month ago)

I need some different habitation very soon and will be losing my computer (which is a piece of crap anyway).  I am hoping to pay a maximum of $40.00 a month.

There aren't specific features Iam looking for.....in fact Iam hoping to learn a little about computers; I want to burn dvds and get music online and play them over those cool graphics I see, like with winamp(?) and play with photos like making slide shows......anyway, you get it, a pretty basic setup, with a graphics card, DESKTOP preferably.

I don't work with computers much, which is why I am asking you guys...I need help on this. :mushroom2: ~Pixie~

I may be able to help you. I happen to have several, many, towers lying around that can easily and cheaply be turned into decently efficient computers.

No! don't try rent a center, they charge you twice what stuff is worth.
PM me I will help you build a CPU with some of this stuff I got laying around.

yea, i've heard they do have good plans if you pay it off within a certain amount of time. It don't sound like shes ready to build a comp, like i wouldint know how to boot the bios and format the hard drive. Theres a lot of people here that could build her a comp though, like the_user used to build comps for cheap.

I can do all of that. all one of these computers needs is a hard drive. its a 3.06HT:shrug: Something tells me that 1 payment of like $100.00 is a whole lot cheaper than any computer you can buy of that quality. But then again who am I? only the guy with 500 extra computers laying around that are eventually ending up in the free dumpster, and maybe I am also the guy that would rather see one go to good use to someone on this site than get trashed, but then again.

BTW, booting BOIS or however you stated that is not only totally wrong but it's something that is easy and yet not hardly ever required.

Sometimes its hard to FIND people to give a computer to that would actually appreciate/use it.  It's always a pain to have a bunch of wasted computer parts laying around.

Id say buy a HP . they are the best. yep. im a tech guy and im in the business of sales too. but if you want to keep it easy and reliable for a good price go HP. building your own will probably cost more unless you use old discontinued items

The Best computer you can purchase with a monthly payment is probably the one you can own in the fewest months.

If you have any decent parts laying around, hit me up.

I don't know everything their is to know about hardware but I'd like to add more memory.

I only have 1gb.

Probably PC3200.  It'd probably be helpful to know how many DIMM slots you have open.

Just gave my spare computer to my dad after sitting around for a couple months.  So no RAM from me, sorry.

Quote:

509GE:
# Installed: 1024 MB PC3200 (400 MHz)
# Four DDR SDRAM Dual Inline Memory Module (DIMM) sockets
# Support for DDR 400 MHz and DDR 333 MHz DIMMs
# Support for up to 4 GB of system memory
