cacti in fluoros
    #9820215 - 02/18/09 02:12 PM (15 years, 1 month ago)

how efficient are fluoros for cacti growing? i got some little cacti, probably too little to be exposed to direct sunlight. will fluoros enhance growing?

yes, flouros are fine for smaller cacti, especially seedlings.

Yeah, the largest cacti I have (just 1ft) under flouros are able to stay alive, but I really don't get much growth out of them. For seedlings though, they're awesome because you can have them so close w/o it resulting in sunburn.

I got all my cacti under a fluoro right now, tried to get them to stay dormant but I had to bring them in from the back room because it was freezing.

Spring can't get here soon enough, I don't want all my cacti to start growing all funkily.

End the Federal Reserve/audit the gold reserves at Fort Knox, abolish the IRS, end all wars and occupancies, stop the building of an empire that will inevitably fail, and cut all unconstitutional federal programs. Put the power back in the peoples' hands by ending this nanny-state.

IMO you need HIDs to actually grow a mature plant, but floroz can keep them alive - and are preferred for seedlings/clones

By the same token, if growing outdoors, bring seedlings / clones to a shady area to keep out of direct rays.

and actually, San Pedro and related species don't really like too much like anyway, especially when they're young.  I put some baby San Pedros out on my patio last summer and it nearly killed them.  Now, they're on a shady window sill and they're doing great.

If you take any plant from the inside and set it outside in full sun, it will kill it..Start with 10-15 min of sun each day and add 10min each day
