I don't like getting older, i feel like im running out of time to do all the things i would like to accomplish in my life time. I really like being alive, and every time i wake up, i kinda get depressed that this is just one more day being marked off till my death. I don't really know how to feel about aging, i feel like time is going by too fast

Stop thinking about it and just enjoy all the time you have here.

I'm sure technology will make virtual immortality a reality.
Could happen in our lifetime
-------------------- Last night I was honored with the Nobel Prize in theoretical physics. This worldwide recognition has given me the opportunity to bring hope to a war-ravaged world. I vowed to myself I would work like a dog at this. But now, it's 10:30 in the morning and I'm just getting out of bed. I did get up earlier around 8:00am, but I just lied in bed for a while, and then...jerked off. I've got to stop masturbating, it makes me too lazy. Stop it Albert...stop it. ~Albert Einstein.

Sometimes I feel the clock ticking. I see people younger than me who are a lot more successful(including my own brother), and I feel like I have to make something of myself soon. I'm closer to 30 than I am to 20, and I realize that's not that old, but I still feel like I'm waiting for my real life to begin. This just wasn't how it was supposed to be. I was supposed to find a career right out of college, and make a good salary and be married and have a kid by now, and none of that's happened. I did manage to move out of my parents' house, but if my finances keep going the way they are, that may have to change, too.
But I realize this is all an ego game. My unhappiness is largely a result of coveting what others have. This is the nature of dukkha(suffering) which the Buddha taught how to overcome. I've built up this image for what my life is supposed to be like, and cause myself suffering by comparing my real life against this ideal. I'm working on being happy in the moment, without having to make these egocentric comparisons. It's not easy, but I think if I can do that, I can achieve real spiritual success.

I think it depends on HOW you age. I suggest you find what it is youd like to do the most and get to it asap. Although, i do have to say, waking up every morning with a sense of guilt like yours might make aging a little tedious, no? Be happy- die happy

I think I'm ready for death now. I prefer life, but I'm comfortable with the idea of non-existence, so everything past this point is icing on the cake.
Aging isn't so bad. If we continually exercise body and mind, we can stand strong against time well into our later years. And if we always strive to better ourselves, we'll only become better and happier people as time marches on.

I thought we were talking about that point of no longer standing strong and starting to age, hard. That's the question; how do you feel about that.

Yeah, I often feel this way; just try not to worry too much. You can't prevent aging, you can only make sure that you're aging doing what you love.

I've always felt like this. I remember even when I was about four years old I had the dreaded sense that time was slipping by.
In fact, it was much worse when I was young.

I turn 20 this year. That's roughly a quarter of my life gone. It's such a young age, but this is the first time I have ever actually worried (only slightly) about age. I'm not sure how I will feel by the time I am 40.

I'm talking about aging, not being super old and feeble.
When I am too frail to prance around in a potato sack full of jelly beans on one foot fitted into a glass slipper with the heel missing and the Dr. Scholl's comforter all torn up and smelly, I probably won't care, because I'll be a senile, toothy old bastard.
