You will need about 2 cakes. You must pasteurized the hpoo by first wetting to field capacity, then place in sealed freezer bags. Heat a large pot (21qt is good) of water on stove and measure temp with a meat thermometer. When temp hits 180F turn stove down and place bag in pot and submerge with weight. Put thermometer in top of bag to measure heat on inside. When temp on inside hits over 160 start a timer for 1 1/2 hours. Every 30min check temp. If going below 160 raise the stove temp. Keep between 160-180 for 1 1/2 hours. Let cool and spawn.

Adaptation never creates a new species or trait, but rather the new species/trait always existed within the parent DNA until circumstances allowed it to be activated. For instance, every wolf has the DNA for poodles, but that DNA would never be revealed without man selectively breeding for it.

I recommend the search-tek. Works a treat for bulk growing.

Most time when people talk ratios they are talking in volume not weight. So if you have 10 pint jars and you want to go for a 1:3 ratio you can then use 30 pints of sub. That will give you a total volume of 40 pints. You can play with the numbers to figure out what you want. Just keep in mind the more you stretch your ratio out the longer it will take to recolonize and the more risk you have if your not 100% sterile in your process to get contaminated.

Sorry I have no idea. When I prepare my sub I just use a jar to measure it out and don't worry what it weighs. I am more concerned that it will fit in the space that I have. Manure will weigh more when at field capacity than it does when its dry.

Have you watched all of RR's video samples? There is also a ton of stuff on Youtube just watch as some of the youtube info is outdated. I would watch RR's videos that will help give you a better understanding of the process.

common sense and understanding the concepts is the biggest thing. a 1:4 ratio seems to be the safest bet. or you can just spawn a few cakes to a pasteurized substrate until you reach the desired level in your tub, if thats what your using. if you have extra substrate then save it or throw it away. if you have extra spawn then USE IT. or spawn it more or make a smaller grow with it. ive heard people say they use more spawn at the surface level. you could possibly spawn heavy at the bottom to prevent bottom contamination, spawn light in the middle and then spawn heavy at the top to prevent surface contamination. whatever. there is no exact science. just use your judgement. follow ther teks as best you can. no use in re-inventing the wheel. and please post your results so we can all learn from your experiences. pictures and processes please -peace
