Hello, just one more ghetto idea, could I use dried orange peels for drying mushrooms? Just like replacing desiccant with orange peels?

Peels release moisture, some people rehydrate dry buds with them... although I have heard lettuce is better.
How about use a fan? A dehydrator? Something that actually will remove the moisture?

Sounds like a sure way to grow some mold. Ever leave an orange peel out wet? RR

Listen to LennyK. Orange peel is usually used to add moisture, not remove it.

i beleive he said "Dry orange peel". i dont think The dried orange peel would be able to retain to much water after its dried. i throw a couple small orange peel chips in with my soil to balance ph and give Give my plants vitamins. But They dont Rehyrdrate to well. they just get soft and start to breakdown.

Yeah I missed that, either way it is a bad idea, once they gain moisture they will mold as RR said.

Bad idea. Try buying a dehydrator for Target. Very cheap and works great. You want to have the shroom dried to a crisp. This way there isn't the possibility of mold growing on the shroom.

Oh I see. Because I accidentally left some orange peels over a week and they were so sharp and hard. Well still worth for asking .
