how much should an average one bedroom apartment with a dishwasher, refrigerator, stove, bathroom, etc...cost?
looks like the average price in my area is $475 but one i asked about was $599 and it was a shitty looking complex.
how much for a low, run down one? how much for a new or remodeled one?
edit: what are those people called that freely help others find an apartment?

google apartments + "your city" and maybe + "cheap"
350 - 699 for a one bedroom depending on the hood and complex.

It depends on where you live. I have a friend who pays 225 for hers but lives in the middle of nowhere. A cheap one will run you 500 around here.

My rent went up to $620 this year. I wonder how I'm ever going to save enough to get out of here if they keep upping the ante like this.

Apartment pimps?
Seriously tho, I connected with an apt pimp when i moved last year. Craigslist man! This lady was basically the middle man between landlords and apt seekers. Worked out great. I pay $575 for a very spacious one bedroom in an old house in the historic district. I guess some artists lived here before because they had painted murals on the walls. pretty sweet... good luck!

Yes, there's a laundry room with coin-operated washer and dryer.

Roughly the same here for a single bedroom downtown usually includes utilities. But it depends more on where you live than anything else.
A flat in minor metropolis will probably cost about that; bigger cities obviously can charge outrageously more for much less space and service.
However if you don't mind living in slums or crappy low value neighborhoods you can save a damn decent chunk of change.

I pay $450 for two and a half bedrooms.
But I live in the ghetto between a crack-house and a condemned building full of homeless bums.

Really depends on the city and the neighborhood.
My not-so-great one bedroom is $634 a month, parking and utilities included, but I think I could do better if I didn't care about the area. I'm in the suburbs but not too far from downtown.
New apartments around here are $700-800+

I pay $725 a month.
The good: the building is fairly new, built in the 70s off street parking pool/workout room near downtown so its a quick commute awesome balcony w/ great views pretty nice neighborhood for 20 and 30 something peoples free heat, my electric bill is about $20 a month in the winter AC wall unit
the bad: no washer dryer in my unit the overall square footage is pretty small. the AC unit is inefficient and my electric bill gets high in the summer b/c I have to run it sometimes
725 is a lot but i work downtown and my job gives me the option of a free bus pass or $60 toward parking in the structure, which means I still would have to pay $110 a month to park, plus the gas it would take me to drive to and from the suburbs. So I could get a place like what I have now in the burbs for $550, but I would be in the burbs and I dislike the burbs.

I pay $550 a month for a 2 bedroom and that's with ALL utilities included. It's a tiny little apartment though.

I pay 650/month in a small town in Indiana. It's the second floor on a new townhouse style complex. No garage (+$80/month), but many parking spots available. Washer/dryer hookups are provided. I could definitely stand paying less, considering where I live...
