Yes..  Microwave for 3 minuties, take out, stir.  Microwave for 3 minutes, take out, stir.  Do this 4 times (12 min. total).  Make sure you add  you water before you did this.

Make sure to cover with saran wrap so moisture is not lost.

I guess it ends up taking almost as much time but at least I don't have to use the big pot and the stove and so on. '

My plan is to use micro-safe plastic GLAD pseudo tupperware (disposable, supercheap 5 cup plastic bowl with lid). Hope it works. The bastards better not melt.

Those GLAD things do melt a little, but hey like you said, they're super cheap. If I were you, I would just do it in a big microwaveable bowl.

My Glad containers NEVER melt in my 1000 watt (output) microwave.

To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.'  Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence.  Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains.  Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

The FAQ says yes. At least for casing material it will. I want to try it with the H2O2 also. Nuke it and then spray it.

"Wow and then you can cake it after this with out having to presure cook it???"

no, they're talking about casings, not cakes. simply microwaving cake material and throwing it into a jar without boiling or PCing is asking for contams.

i only use the pressure cooker for rye and grains. never vermiculite. its easier to kill the contams off the vermiculite.
