    #9615629 - 01/15/09 04:16 PM (15 years, 2 months ago)

Aloha all

once again been in the field.

and found some good looking pans. today.

the wind has been pretty fierce, so the last rain we had was really insignificant with the way the wind dries out all the substrate

nonetheless, Maui produces!!!

everything i found today...nothin looked the same

from left to right

PLEASE ID THESE IF U CAN!!!

PLEASE ID EXACT if you can tell from just pictures. theyre for printing purposes!

obvious habitat. cow fields. on turds.

the last picture is what i print/call copelandia cyanescens

the red stemmed ones are a mystery right now

and the others this is the first time ive found them...

and one picture i thought youd all apreciate.
a pan. and our mystery white guy fruiting from the same dung

ALOHA

Cool mushrooms.

The last pic is almost certainly Copelandia cyanescens, the other Copelandia species are much more rare.

Looks like you got one of the C. cyanescens in the next pic up from that too.

The rest of the Panaeolus with red stems key out to Panaeolus papilionaceus var. parvisporus in Gerhardt 1996.

That species is distinguished by "Spores about 13-16 µm long; cap indistinctly appendiculate, veil very fugaceous" (evanescent)

Unfortunately I had to make a lot of assumptions about microscopic features that I can not see to use the key, so I have very little confidence that the answer I gave you is the correct one.  The other way is to read through all the descriptions and see which one matches best, however they are in Italian and are not available online anywhere.

just out of curiosity, whats known about the activity of the second pan you named alan?
the reports i have found are conflicting each other.
also the veil remnants left on the cap by p.pap arent prominent in justme's pics.

Unknown, probably weak to inactive.

It would be interesting to find enough to eat or try a psilocybin test with p-dmab.

Sure, foes are pretty common and some of those look like Foes.  Did you print them?  If so what color were the prints?  That's the quick and easy test.

all jet black and dark.

the only ones a lil light(but still black)are the middle big one, and the top one here

and i think its just due to age, and the big one i demolished the cap somehow from brown paper bag to printing foil
