Well, about a week ago I noticed the first signs of life in my 1/2 gallon popcorn jar. At first, I was going to do in vitro, but after reading more about it, I think it would be better to do something, anything else.

What I'm thinking about doing is mixing the colonized popcorn with about equal parts of coir, maybe a little bit more, and fruiting in a mycobag or a monobucket. My question is, how the fuck do I get a mass of colonized popcorn out of a glass jar? It's not conveniently shaped, so I can't just birth it like normal jars. Is it as simple as just shaking the fuck out of it once it gets to 100% to break up the grains and pouring them in to the bag with the coir? My only issue with just breaking the glass is the mess it would make, especially if I broke up the popcorn in the process.

I have another couple of questions, though.

If I choose to spawn the popcorn to coir, does the coir have to be sterilized first? That'd be one hell of a lot of coir to put in my PC.

How cautious about sterility do I need to be from now on? I've heard a lot of people complain about contamination in the fruiting stage, and yet also heard that mycelium is almost contam-proof once it's fully grown.

beat the jar until the grains break up, against a inflated bike tire, or something soft.

after that you will pour it out and mix it with the coir.

coir should be pasteurized before spawning with your grains
