You're kidding, right?

your reading the chemical reactions, its saying with iron salts it turns one color, and another color if u use ammonia.

no worries about your misunderstanding, your honesty about your misunderstanding and willingness to learn is how you have to be when it comes to this hobby.
Even the most experienced hunters can still learn more.

I've grown bitter about the slippery jack What all mushrooms like the chanterelle lack When no mushrooms are to be found There's sure to be plenty of jacks around!
Sorry for the crappy mushroom prose, I'm bored at work today

The sound of Slippery jacks puts a buttery flavor in my mouth. The pores are what taste the best IMO. I like to scrape them off and cook them separately. SOOO good!

Funny, slippery jacks were the last mushrooms I found in Berkeley recently. I gave up on cooking/eating them so I tossed them away after attempting to educate my coworkers on identification and spore printing. Lipa you say the pores are tasty when cooked separately, eh? If that is true then maybe I will try that next time.

I like the whole thing, but the pores have more flavor in them in IMO. Don't forget to skin the pileus. You'll get the shits if you don't.

Yeah me neither. There were hundreds of huge ones on the lawn were I work, and I watched them all just rot away.

I don't eat Suillus, not any part.
Some say they are a good, vegetarian substitute for Banana Slugs.
