 problem with neighbor

alright so ive lived in this apartment for 4 months. im on the second level, so some dude lives underneath me. this prick has complained about noise coming from my aparment twice. the landlord came over and was cool just told me to try to be quiet. so i tried. had some people over one night and we were up kinda late. landlord came over in the morning and said he complained again and gav eme a piece of paper to sign talking about it. then iread it, this asshole said we were loud all night and left beer cans all over the place outside. there were 2 beer cans sitting above the ashtray outside, thats it... also it said this was the third complaint, which it isnt.
now, this asshole slams doors all the time, and has been playing loud shitty 80s music (for the most part)
then this morning at 930-10am i wake up to tech n9ne directly underneath my bedroom, loud as fuck. so i get up and turn my computer on and put on NIN and tool and turn it up on my nice bose sound system 
AND THEN HE KNOCKS ON THE CEILING!!!! god this dude is pissing me off. i dont know if i should complain about the noise coming from his apartment to get back at him, or just say fuck it. if you wanna be a dick then im gonna be loud right back.
i mean, i gave the guy my phone numebr and told him to call me anytime if im too loud. but no, instead wants to get back at me by being loud...
FUCKin neighbors. i wish i had some dank i could smoke right now.

im loud as fuck in the daytime in my apartment
i blast bassnectar sooooo loud sometimes i guarantee EVERYONE in my building feels it.
i have huuuuuuge BOSE speakers too

dude i think the guy that lives under you used to live under me bc i used to have the same problem
this fuckin loser would call up our landlord and complain at like 4pm that we were listening to music too loudly.
luckily we never got in trouble with the landlord bc she thought it was retarded that the guy only complained about us during the day. he complained that he worked 3rd shift and was trying to sleep during the afternoon... DONT LIVE IN COLLEGE APARTMENTS THEN DICK!

i had neighbors like this last year
we lived in a college town and everyone who lived in the building were college students
they were pretty nice apts and we had parties (3-4 kegs) about every other week
these fucking black people who played on the football team lived underneath us called the cops so many fucking times.
we always invited them over and offered a free cup, but the fucking animals just called the cops anyways
they always denied that they called the cops, but we were good friends with everyone else who lived in that building (only 4 other units)
its not like this is the middle of the week, it would only be a thurs, fri, or sat
so whatever we just said nigger really loudly throughout the week and im sure they heard us, fuck em

i think when problems like that keep escalating, with guys you cant win with like that(ive had them too) its probably best to just move if you can. it especially works when you have a good relationship with the landlord or have been there longer, cause then the landlord will not want to lose a good tenant.

omg i went through this EXACT same issue. had noise complaints when i wasnt loud, lived upstairs, the guy downstairs played shitty music, slammed the door, and sometimes we swore he cooked meth because of the smells that emitted from his place.
this brings back haunting memories. dont have any advice though ... i eventually just moved

thats funny. this douche bag works at 4am 6 days a week. and i live in a huge college town. i never complain about him, but he keeps being a bitch and complains about me. idk what to do. if i end up moving out, ill be back with my parents....
