 Agar woes

so about two weeks ago I made up some agar for first time.
I used
9 grams agar agar powder
3 grams honey
3 grams brown rice syrup
5 grams potato flakes
500 grams tap water
I was using 1/4 pint jars instead of petri dishes. I just received my 100 multi section dishes yesterday. Anyways, the lids have a self healing inoc point and three 1/16 holes for GE. A layer of tveyk is placed over then the lid band. I mixed all the ingredients using hot tap water and poured a 1/4" into each jar. I then pc'd these for 30 minutes. I used a multi-spore syringe to inoculate(i had no prints of the two strains I am trying to isolate). I shook the syringe to disperse spores and placed a few drops of spore solution into each jar and swirled. The liquid was just enough to coat the top of the agar with a shiny gloss and had evaporated or been absorbed within a day. It has been about two weeks and there is zero growth, no contams either. These syringes are proven, and have been used since then successfully for an lc. Any holes in my technique? I have read a previous post saying not to use tap water, but i don't know.

How long did you let them cool? Jars usually take a good 5-6 hours to cool after a PC IME.

Strange, not sure why you would have that problem. Have you tried other agar mixtures at all?
Not sure if it matters, but I've read about people using brown rice flower, not syrup. That's the only real difference I see. Also, where did you get the measure for your honey? I read 10ml/cc of honey or karo was being used in a very similar mixture. (Which is nearly 14g)

just playing, I use the brown rice syrup for my lc's and it works great. It is made the same way as Karo but with rice. The ratio of agar to nutes to water is still correct right?
